Galvin at Windows celebrates first Michelin Star

Galvin at Windows restaurant – which sits perched atop the Hilton Park Lane – has been awarded a coveted Michelin Star in the 2010 Michelin Guide. It is one of only six London newcomers to this year’s prestigious list.

Since opening in 2006, Galvin at Windows has become one of London’s most talked-about restaurants, for its food as much as its peerless views over the capital. Together with head chef André Garrett, chef patron Chris Galvin has successfully created seasonally inspired menus based around modern French haute cuisine.

General manager Fred Sirieix said: “It is fantastic to gain recognition for the good, honest food that we serve, and genuine hospitality. We look forward to building on this and improving during 2010 and beyond.”

Michelin has been producing guides for Britain since 1911, with a stand-alone London edition launched in 1974. Stars are awarded to establishments serving cuisine of the highest quality as a result of independent, regular and anonymous visits from inspectors.
