QHotels foots the VAT bill

The restaurant at Aldwark Manor in York – just one of QHotels' 21 UK properties
QHotels is bucking the VAT increase – in which tax has reverted to 17.5% this month – with its decision to freeze the price of all food and drink sold in its hotels. The group will absorb the costs themselves until the end of April 2010.
With the economy making a hesitant recovery, QHotels’ decision was born out of a desire to show its support for consumers and suppliers alike by offering lower prices on two key elements of its offering.
QHotels’ co-founder and managing director Michael Purtill commented: “At QHotels we pride ourselves on our one-of-a-kind approach to business and guest satisfaction. This freeze on prices is just another enterprise that sets us apart from our competitors and adds value to our offerings.”
The price freeze will apply in all 21 QHotels properties throughout the UK.
