Hotel of the week: Park Plaza Westminster Bridge London

After nearly 10 years of planning and more than two years in construction, the much-anticipated Park Plaza Westminster Bridge London opened its doors to an eager public last week.
The £350 million hotel is enviably situated at the foot of Westminster Bridge – in the heart of London’s buzzing South Bank – with the transport links of Waterloo just a few minutes away.
Bedrooms are sleek, contemporary and – unusually for London – extremely spacious
Inside, bedrooms are sleek, contemporary and – unusually for London – extremely spacious. LCD flat-screen televisions, workstations with international electrical outlets and gorgeous bathrooms all come as standard, with this attention to detail matched by the clean-lined furnishings.
For business guests, two executive lounges, a 24-hour business centre and private suite check-in area are provided, but it’s in the conference and events department that this hotel really comes into its own: the pillar-free Westminster Ballroom accommodates up to 1,400 theatre-style, or 1,000 for dinner.
In addition, 31 further meeting rooms provide a spectacular range of options, ranging from small board meetings to receptions for 1,200 guests.
During this initial soft-opening period, final preparations will be made to the hotel, including completion of its full-service spa, swimming pool and gym.
