Hotel of the Week: Macdonald Burlington Hotel

Situated in the heart of Birmingham, the historic Macdonald Burlington Hotel is the city’s original four-star, city-centre hotel – rumoured to be Winston Churchill’s favourite place to stay there.
With its refurbishment programme finished in March 2010, the Burlington has seen its 115 bedrooms and public areas brought back to their original Victorian splendour; sympathetic to the building’s structure, but with all the modern amenities expected by business and leisure travellers today.
Its central and easily accessible location makes it a great choice for a centrally placed conference venue in the UK – ideal if you have delegates coming from around the UK or from overseas. With 16 conference and meeting rooms, and the ability to host up to 500 delegates and a nearby NCP car park with spaces for 1,000, it is a very convenient and well-positioned option – whether you’re having a large event or want to accommodate delegates during a fair held at the NEC.
In its renaissance-style Berlioz restaurant, private dining and banqueting are specialities of Macdonald Burlington Hotel. The group’s commitment is to serve only the finest Scottish beef, lamb, pork and wild white fish and, where possible, to source local, organic suppliers for its vegetables and dairy products – meaning that the food is absolutely fantastic.
