Venue of the week: The Parc Hotel by Thistle
Thistle's magnificent 125-year-old The Parc Hotel is reaping the rewards of last year's multi-million pound investment that saw all bedrooms and public areas redesigned with chic modern decor and contemporary furnishings.
The sensitive refurbishment was careful to modernise the Victorian hotel with out compromising its history.
The original features - most notably the stunning façade - have been preserved while allowing the hotel to deliver all that you'd expect from a high-quality hotel: to-die-for bedding, towels you can sink into and gorgeous toiletries that you'll want to smuggle out.
Located in the centre of Cardiff, The Parc beautifully combines cutting-edge with the traditionally romantic, giving it a unique elegance.
The hotel's established restaurant, Hamon's, serves up a full menu of classic Welsh dishes with a modern twist that has earned it the reputation as one of Cardiff's most elegant dining experiences.
After dinner, dinners can enjoy a drink or two in the Champagne Bar, which serves the largest selection of champagnes in the entire city.
In addition to eight meeting flexible meeting suites, with a single room maximum capacity of 300, the hotel has 140 bedrooms, including suites and accessible rooms.
The hotel is close by the Millennium Stadium and Cardiff's main railway station.
