Indigo management at the glitzy opening

Second Indigo hotel opens with a sparkle

IHG has expanded its boutique Indigo brand in the UK with the launch of Hotel Indigo London.

Located on Minories in the City of London, the hotel opened with great
flourish. As the champagne and cocktails flowed, General Manager Alex
Apostolakos and guests were entertained by a magician and Britain’s Got
Talent flair bartender, Attila Iskifoglu – four times European Mixologist
and Flair Bartender Champion.

The building was previously occupied by City traders, Jardines Matheson who
specialised in gold bullion trading. Apostolakos, whose office is concealed
behind an original former gold safe, says:

“Hotel Indigo combines boutique hotel design with superb service and is the
first hotel in London with four poster beds in every room. It gives the
hotel a real sense of London’s history.”

Murals throughout the 44 bedroom hotel reflect nearby landmarks such as
Tower Bridge, The Tower of London, the Bank of England and the City’s
financial district, while individually designed boutique rooms come with
Nespresso coffee machines and iPod docks, plus spacious work desks and free
Wi-Fi to appeal to the business traveller.

The Square Mile Kitchen & Lounge serves a modern British menu using organic
and seasonal produce to create homemade locally inspired dishes.
