Virgin triumphs at British Travel Awards
The Virgin brand won huge recognition at the British Travel awards, held last night.
Expotel partners Virgin Atlantic, scooped Airline of the Year, holiday division Virgin Holidays picked up Large Package Company of the Year while the brand’s retail operation claimed Small Travel Retailer of the Year.
The awards, held at Battersea Evolution in Battersea Park, celebrated a line up of winning travel companies as voted for by the British public. Over 220,000 votes were cast this year making the British Travel Awards the largest independent awards scheme in the UK. The event was filmed by ITN.
British Travel Awards’ chief executive Lorraine Barnes Burton said:
“The British Travel Awards are widely considered to be the “Oscars” of the travel industry! It’s the largest awards programme in the UK with the winning accolade being the benchmark for excellence. This year, more than any, the competition was fierce and all winners are to be congratulated on their achievement.”
