Expotel wins £6.5m deal with Scottish Water
Expotel has scooped a £6.5 million contract with Scottish Water for the provision of business travel services including negotiating rates for conference facilities.
The work – which is expected to be for an initial three-year period with up to two 12-month extensions – follows a grueling ten-month tender process, which opened in June last year. Expotel beat eight other agencies to the contract.??
The £6.5m agreement will include securing the lowest real-time rates for flights, rail and accommodation, as well as negotiating rates for conference facilities and providing an online booking tool for Scottish Water staff.
Expotel group sales director James Steventon added:
"We’re delighted to have been awarded this contract and are keen to demonstrate the benefits of our coverage in the north via our Glasgow office. I’m confident that factors such as our user-friendly online booking tools, experience in policy control, strong supplier relationships as well as ability to drive savings for the public sector will deliver outstanding results for Scottish Water."
Scottish Water commercial director Chris Banks said:
"Scottish Water are looking forward to building a strong partnership with Expotel for all our business travel requirements. Expotel impressed us throughout the recent procurement process, with their knowledge and capability to deliver cost effective programmes, while maintaining high levels of service to Scottish Water?"
