IHG expands Hotel Indigo into Continental Europe

InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has signed a franchise agreement to open a Hotel Indigo in Madrid – the first Hotel Indigo signing in Continental Europe.

Set to open in spring 2012, the 89-bedroom hotel will be situated in the centre of the Spanish capital, close to the Opera House, Almudena Cathedral and the area’s main museums. It will also have easy access to the city’s main conference and train stations, making it ideal for both business and leisure guests.

The Hotel Indigo boutique brand began its rollout in January 2009 with the launch of the Hotel Indigo London Paddington, and there are currently 34 Hotel Indigo hotels open, with a further 52 in the global pipeline.
