Park Plaza County Hall scoops Best Employer award
Park Plaza County Hall
has been named Best Employer at the prestigious Springboard Awards For
Excellence.
The four-star deluxe hotel beat the Compass Group
and Rocco Forte's The Balmoral, impressing the judges with its strategic HR
approach which focuses on communication, training, retention, development, and
reward and recognition.
Springboard - which has
helped young, unemployed and disadvantaged people into hospitality careers for
more than 20 years - was impressed with a number of initiatives developed by
the Park Plaza County Hall team. Catching the judges’ eyes were initiatives
such as the Talent
Bank, a pool of previous applicants who are contacted when new roles arise, and
a Buddy System that pairs new starters with a current employee.
In addition, Park Plaza County Hall has fostered strong
relationships with schools and colleges to develop an all-encompassing student
placement programme, and provides accredited free English lessons three times a
week for overseas employees.
