Corporate Social Responsibility
Expotel is committed to being a socially aware and environmentally-friendly corporate citizen within the communities it serves.
Our corporate social responsibility programme is targetted at reducing our impact on the environment, promoting traveller safety and raising the awareness of the unique needs of female business travellers.
We also hold the ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 14001:2004 accreditations from the British Standards Institute.
A CarbonNeutral™ Company
Expotel is a certified CarbonNeutral™ company. To receive the certification, Expotel was subject to a full greenhouse gas assessment by the CarbonNeutral Company, which was subsequently backed by an independently managed and audited standard for carbon management. Originally certified in 2007, Expotel managed to reduce its CO2 emissions by a further 29 per cent at the time of our recertification in 2009.
Our commitment to reducing waste is incorporated into all company activities. We also provide a service to clients who wish to offset their business travel.

Expotel’s Woman Aware campaign
Expotel’s Woman Aware campaign helps women travelling alone on business identify hotels that are safe and comfortable.
Expotel instigated the Woman Aware campaign in recognition of the unique needs of women travelling alone. Feedback from female clients travelling alone on business told us that they often felt unsafe and vulnerable at certain hotels. In most cases, the issues raised were easily avoidable. The campaign is a means of opening a dialogue with the hotel industry and educating them as to how women want to be treated.
To be recognised as Woman Aware, hotels must be nominated by three independent female business travellers and meet 10 criteria devised by Expotel following a comprehensive survey of our clients.

International recognition for quality systems and environmental management
Expotel has been awarded ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 14001:2004 accreditations from the British Standards Institute.
ISO 9001 is the internationally recognised standard for an organisation's internal quality management policies and is designed to ensure the needs and expectations of a company’s customers are met.
ISO 14001 specifies the standards an organisation must meet to have a good environmental management system.
