Corporate Social Responsibility
Expotel is committed to being a socially aware and environmentally-friendly corporate citizen within the communities it serves.
Our corporate social responsibility programme is targeted at reducing our impact on the environment, promoting traveller safety and raising the awareness of the unique needs of lone business travellers.
We also hold the ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 14001:2004 accreditations from the British Standards Institute.
Our policies are available on request.
A CarbonNeutral™ Company
Expotel is a certified CarbonNeutral™ company. To receive the certification, Expotel was subject to a full greenhouse gas assessment by the CarbonNeutral Company, which was subsequently backed by an independently managed and audited standard for carbon management. Originally certified in 2007, Expotel managed to reduce its CO2 emissions by a further 29 per cent at the time of our recertification in 2009.
Our commitment to reducing waste is incorporated into all company activities. We also provide a service to clients who wish to offset their business travel.

Expotel’s Lone Traveller Initiative
Expotel recently relaunched its Woman Aware Campaign as a non gender specific ‘Lone Traveller Initiative’ focused on emphasising the potential for hotels to contribute to the personal safety and comfort of all of their solo guests.
Expotel will be recruiting an advisory panel of male and female executive travellers in order to establish a revised criteria for the initiative based on the feedback received from our clients.
Also planned for this year is the introduction of a ‘Lone Traveller' award to help further distinguish the most proactive hotels.
