Mercure Shrewsbury Albrighton Hall Hotel and Spa, Shropshire
If you think nothing says ‘summer’ more than a country house overlooking rolling gardens, then the 300-year-old, four-star Mercure Shrewsbury Albrighton Hall Hotel is for you. Set in 15 acres, the stunning lakeside hotel also has a large outside terrace on which guests can mingle over champagne and canapés, completing the picture.
Best Western Llyndir Hall Hotel, Wrexham/Chester
Recently refurbished and one of the stars of Best Western’s new TV campaign, the Best Western Llyndir Hall Hotel has charm by the bucket-load. Along with revamped deluxe bedrooms and new conference, meeting and banqueting facilities, the hotel has a fantastic outdoor area (pictured) with views over landscaped gardens and the surrounding countryside.
De Vere Venues New Place, Southampton
Designed by Edwin Luytens, often referred to as ‘the greatest British architect’, De Vere Venues New Place has a lot to offer bookers of summer events. As well as 32 acres of grounds, the grade 1-listed manor house has a barbeque area, a formal banqueting suite with an exclusive terrace and a 4x4 track and motorised activity field.
Macdonald Compleat Angler, Marlow
For some quintessential summer fun, think no further than the Compleat Angler - situated on the banks of the Thames, the four-star Macdonald property has boats for hire. Not only that but the hotel also has a new venue in its Riverside Orchard, so you can hold your party in a marquee, with your delegates free to enjoy the spectacular river views from the lawns.
Oxford Hotels and Inns’ The Lugger Hotel, Cornwall
Named the Best Seaside Hotel by The Sunday Times, the Lugger Hotel is a stunning choice for your summer do. Surrounded by headlands along the heritage Cornish coastal footpath, the 22-bedroom hotel has a terrace with views out over a traditional harbour and the open sea. To complete it all, why not treat delegates to the hotel’s famous seafood platter?
Radisson Edwardian Leicester Square Hotel, London
Of course, not all summer events have to happen in the countryside – if you’re in our illustrious capital city, head to Radisson Edwardian’s Leicester Square Hotel. With its spacious 100-square-foot terrace that can seat 120 people and the hotel’s star chef Karim Larves serving up a delicious grazing menu, it’s the perfect choice for a city-centre, summer soiree.
Red Carnation’s The Montague in the Gardens, London
Hot off the press is The Montague on the Gardens’ summer dining offering. Starting on 11 May, the four-star luxury boutique hotel will be serving up a fantastic al fresco barbeque, which will run from 12.30pm to 10.30pm every day until 12 September, on its beautiful and secluded new Wood Deck. On the menu are delights such as BBQ spare ribs with grilled pak choi and sesame dressing, lobster grilled with garlic and parsley butter, and suprêmes of salmon with braised fennel and pesto sauce – sounds like the taste of summer to us!
