Rezidor opens new Radisson Blu Hotel in Bristol
The Rezidor Group has opened its 15th Radisson Blu Hotel in the UK – the new-build Radisson Blu Hotel, Bristol (right).
Housed in an 18-storey blue-glass building, the city-centre, 176-bedroom hotel is the second-tallest building in the West Country city, offering spectacular views.
The Bristol hotel’s dedicated meeting and events area has four boardroom/breakout rooms and a large event room able to seat up to 100 delegates, theatre-style, or 70 for a dinner dance. The large central breakout area can host a reception for 150 guests.
In addition, there is an outdoor balcony with views over Broad Quay. Mark Willis, regional director of Radisson Blu UK, said: “This new Bristol property is a great addition to our portfolio and a significant opening in the South West.”
Missoni: the jewel in Edinburgh’s crown
Occasionally a hotel comes on the scene that gets everyone talking. One such hotel is the Hotel Missoni Edinburgh, the renowned Italian fashion house’s first foray into hospitality – done in partnership with Rezidor.
From its signature Missoni patterns – graphic black and white designs, interspersed with shots of bright, detailed colour – to the touches you’d only get in a family run Italian hotel (such as freshly baked homemade pastries in your bedroom), the five-star hotel is in a league of its own.
Much of Edinburgh seems to be in agreement, with the newly opened hotel ranking highly among the Scottish capital’s sexy, young things’ places to be seen. Who, after all, could resist its double-storey glass front that opens onto a large, oval-shaped bar where the prosecco is on draught and the cocktail list is as long as your arm?
Head upstairs to Cucina, the restaurant above the bar, for some more Italian-style hospitality. Here, you will be fattened up by executive head chef Mattio Camorani, who cooks up an authentic range of Italian fare, and the pastry chef, who makes the hotel’s pasta, bread and pastries fresh every day. After a fine Italian feast, guests can head up to their rooms, also done out in the inimitable Missoni style. Perfect for business travellers: the rooms come with Missoni dressing gowns, Missoni-scented toiletries, free Wi-Fi, a stocked mini-bar, flatscreen TV (to which you can connect your iPod), a movie service with over 150 films and a cooked-to-order breakfast come as standard.
