Mayor selects Expotel Collection venue as Olympics Media Centre
One Great George Street, a prime meeting and events venue based in Westminster, has been chosen to house the London Media Centre for the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games by the Mayor of London.
Part of the Expotel Collection, the venue’s unrivalled location is close to
Whitehall, Parliament Square, St James’s Park and iconic London
landmarks including Big Ben and The London Eye. The location, premium service
and conference facilities highlight the centre as the ideal choice for the
London Media Centre.
Thousands of international journalists are expected to descend on the capital
to cover the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games and One Great George Street will
provide a central base to conduct media business.
To fully satisfy journalists’ requirements, the award-winning venue will be
open 24 hours a day, provide workspace for over 250 journalists, in-house
dining facilities, the ability to accommodate 200 members of the international
media and additional offices for photographers.
