Wimbledon chooses Expotel for 17th year
The All England Club – the association behind the Wimbledon Championships – has reappointed Expotel to handle its accommodation and travel needs for the 17th year.
The Wimbledon remit covers hotel bookings for players, sponsors, press, officials and visitors, with hotels such as Millennium and Copthorne Chelsea Football Club, Copthorne Tara Kensington and Kingston Lodge proving popular.
Expotel’s exhibitions manager George Tong said: “Expotel is proud and privileged that our experience and resources have resulted in our being chosen by Wimbledon for the 17th year running.
“Fifty per cent of bookings are repeat business,” said Tong. “And out of all the bookings this year, 60 per cent of bookings have been through the website. Expotel was also able to offer savings of 30 to 50 per cent on the rack rate.”
