Classic British Hotels
Number of properties: There are more than 80 quality independent hotels that are exclusive to Classic British Hotels, a group which has a total of more than 5,000 bedrooms. The hotels range from 20 to 160 bedrooms with an average size of 60 bedrooms. Most Classic hotels have leisure clubs and many have been awarded AA rosettes for food. Two Classic chefs were on the BBC2 TV series, the Best British Menu, with one of them going on to win. Several hotels have golf courses and spas; many have beauty treatment rooms.
Locations: The hotels are throughout Britain, from the Highlands of Scotland down to Jersey in the Channel Islands.
Star rating range: Top three-, four- and five-star, with the majority being four-star.
MICE facilities: The portfolio offers a wide choice of venues for up to 600 delegates. That ranges from castles and themed hotels to heritage hotels, country house or purpose-built conference centres. Most venues are air-conditioned and most offer food and service, plus free Wi-Fi and free parking. Delegate packages, service delivery standards and terms and conditions have been standardised across the group.
